I was given a brand new in the box Maxpeedingrods 5kw diesel heater by a friend. It sat in the box unused for almost a year. After about three months post installation it started playing up. I would get a fan error. E8. Eventually it became unusable. I replaced the motor and fan unit. I pulled the original motor apart. The failure was due to the brushes being carelessly installed at the factory. The braid was rubbing on the brush holder and preventing the brush from making contact with the commutator. As a result the commutator showed signs of burning. Also the orange fuel tank cap split around the edge. I never over-tightened it. There is no need to spend extra money on a branded diesel heater they are all made the same way and probably in the same factories.

had similar on my vectra c sri, i just cleaned it with contact cleaner seems to have done the trick but got a back up sensor off ebay just in case 👍

Martin I have a short term fuel trim of 15.6% and a long term fuel trim of 8.6%. Have you had any problems like this on your vauxhall? These figures are at idle so I am going to rev the engine tomorrow to see if the short term fuel trim falls, if it does I think I have a vacuum leak.

Looks like a good day at Rancho Retrorestore. RD200 is a proper wheelie machine (wasn't me, honestly officer :) ). I had the one before that model. Ridiculously over powerful twin leading shoe drum brake on the front. It came fitted with a steering damper ( you really need it ). It has electric start, but if you set up the timing and carbs correctly you can start it by hand using the kickstarter. Just grab the kickstarter with your hand, give it a flick, and it should fire up. If it doesn't start by hand it probably isn't tuned correctly. Anyhoo back to welding my MK7 Transit rust bucket.

I just bought this Vespa. Mines a 2003 w 1,400 miles on it and is pretty flawless. However, as much as I want to ride it, I see that the previous owner has a bottle of Walmart 2 stroke oil in the underseat so I'm not going to ride it until I have the proper Motul, Yamalube etc.. 2 stroke oil to run in it. Nevertheless, I loved your video on the small improvements to make on this bike to pep it up (ie. delimit the variation, carb plate etc.). I'll be doing these as well although I'm not sure yet of the proper jet size. The other thing that distresses me about this scooter it the autoluber. I think mine's fine, but I'd really prefer to just mix the gas/oil myself instead of relying upon the auto-oiler. Thanks for your hard work and passion!

I had so much hassle with the same oil filter housing i had to heat up the seal ad bash a cold chisel round the edges to move it . Them housing are cheap so i made sure i could get a new one before i started. I always put some old cardboard down before i change the oil as its a pain to get it off the paving.😅

After the past few days I kind of needed a good laugh today, I just did some front end work on my daughter and son in laws car I spent nearly as much time looking for tools as the job took. After the job was complete I took the car for a test ride and the gas light was already on. Guess I am not the only one this stuff happens to. Thanks for the lesson and the laugh.

I came across one the other day where you "Polished up" the deck and plastic parts with "Pledge Revive it" must have been an old video as the pledge is no longer available. Just a note if you release the two bolts on the bottom on the ball joint I'd put a crow bar in the swing arm and lever it down by getting someone to stand on it. When the bolts come off the ball joint the suspension decompresses and can cause a right drama, so just lever down the swing ark with a crow bar

Think you press any button on the smart key twice and low battery warning will reset. If that does not work they should be a little small button on back of smart key you hold for 15 seconds then it should reset.

The trouble with these things is, it sits in the back of your car for 4 years until you finally have a flat battery and when you try it, the battery in the charger has packed in. How long will it hold charge until it needs re-charging?

the reason you remove the cap is that there is a one way valve to allow air in to the reservoir as the fluid goes down so taking the cap off makes the fluid flow easier back into the reservoir.

Nice transformation. Why not use lemon juice slightly diluted with water? Lemons are cheap as chips and smell lush too. Add that to the steam cleaner and vacuum then? 🤔 And forget those stupid throw away disposable coveralls, get a reusable one that you can chuck in the wash. Society's disposable enough as is.
